"Thirty years unsurpassed in Quality and Value"

Katie, Jan and Peyton

Jan Humphrey came to Leone Equestrians rusty. She hadn’t put on a pair of riding boots for over a year, and was still busy with her studies. Rudy put Jan on Ping Pong, creating an unstoppable team. Together they went from the lower level jumpers, which had its disastrous moments, to winning the Bakersfield Grand Prix in 2006. Another highlight was receiving the 2006 Overall Desert Circuit Low Junior Jumper Champion. At the end of that year Rudy found Jan a new horse, one who was ready to go to the level. Carthageno and Jan now compete in the High Amateur Owner jumpers. Her goal for 2008 is to qualify and represent Zone 10 at Young Rider’s.

As most little girls do, Peyton Warren wanted to take riding lessons. After starting at Leone Equestrians several years ago, Jill took over her training. Peyton has since moved up in the divisions. In 2006, she was walk-trot champion for SAHJA, the local area show association. After proving her dedication her parents bought her a pony named Sunny Side Up. Peyton and “Prince” have accomplished numerous wins, including winning the Stirrup Cup at Pebble Beach, placing in the SAHJA medal finals, and her biggest win to date, 2007 Overall Thermal Desert Circuit Short Stirrup Equitation Reserve Champion.

When Katie Estep first joined the barn, she couldn’t keep her heels. She was constantly lectured about it by Rudy. With his help, she started improving. Then Katie was ready for her first horse, Kona Gold. “Kona” took her from the short stirrup to children’s hunters. Once there she realized she would rather be in the jumper ring. Purchasing Pepino, she won numerous championships in the Children’s and Modified jumpers. In 2005 she purchased Nieuw Dehli. Starting in the children’s, Katie and “Dehli” are a competitive Low Junior team. Look for them in 2008 in the high juniors.

Bliss Heers has been successful in all aspects of her riding career. She’s qualified and competed on the WCAR Spruce Meadows 1.30m and 1.40m teams, along with consistent placings in the equitation division. She first met up with Rudy when she was looking for a Jr/Am jumper. This led her to Prinzess 315. After enjoying great success with her mare, Bliss was ready for another horse to take her to the Grand Prix ring. Again she went to Rudy, this time purchasing Longford. With Longford and GZS Cassira Z (another Rudy find), Bliss received the title of 2007 PCHA “Rookie” Grand Prix Rider of the Year.
